WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS           The reasonable consumption of the water resources turns into one of the fundamental postulates for sustainable development nowadays. The technically satisfactory and environmentally friendly discharge of the waters after their utilization is one of the marks of integral water management. By serving settlements and industrial enterprises POVVIK-OOS is capable of meeting even the highest standards for water consumption and water distribution determination, designing of water catchments and water intake facilities as well as facilities for water storage, pumping stations, water supply networks, restoration and rehabilitation, preparation of operation and maintenance manuals. The company has gained experience with all components of urban sewerage systems: designing, analysis and evaluation, generating and upgrading of operation and maintenance instructions, sewerage pumping stations and structures. ENVIRONMENTALLY RELATED WATER PROJECTS           The company can consult and take part in the provision of licenses for water usage or in the provision of licenses for wastewater discharge assessing the assimilative capacity of the receiving water bodies in conformity with the legislation in force. POVVIK-OOS has substantial experience in planning and designing of water treatment processes according to the source (e.g. ground or surface water) and according to the user (e.g. population or industry), water protection from pollution, modular treatment plants, system optimization, upgrading of treatment processes, financial  and economic characteristics.    Wastewater treatment historically  been one of the basic profiles of the company, manifested in planning and designing of the process for full wastewater treatment or of specific processes for the separate stages, e.g. preliminary treatment, mechanical, physical/chemical and biological treatment, post-treatment, sludge treatment. This refers both to domestic WWTPs and to industrial wastewater treatment plants as well. The company has a more specific experience in the field of wastewater treatment from the ferrous and non-ferrous metal industry, metallurgy, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, the leader processing, the food industry, agriculture (pig breeding and poultry farms, etc.). WATER SECTOR RESTRUCTURING PROJECTS           Transition from centralized state owned economy towards free market economy required also a serious restructuring of the water sector as a whole and the water companies in particular. POVVIK-OOS gained experience supporting this process performing assessments of water companies in Bulgaria, developing sequencing strategies for implementation of EU Directives including the funds needed for implementation, drafting National Programs (MTDPW), Varna & Shumen Water Companies Restructing Project, forecasting the development of the whole water sector with a horizon 2014. FINANCIAL ECONOMIC ANALYSES AND TARIFF STUDIES           Working in number of projects of different nature has led to development of specific skills in POVVIK-OOS necessary to meet the highest standards and requirements related to cost-to-benefit analyses, affordability analyses, tariffs sensitivity, etc.
